About Todd H. Melton, LLC
Todd is a native of Lake Charles and has been practicing law for 25 years. He is married to Kim Gandy Melton and has three children. He graduated from Alfred M. Barbe High School in 1989 and earned his undergraduate degree from LSU in 1993 where he majored in Criminal Justice with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. In 1997, he graduated from LSU Law School and received his Juris Doctorate.
Todd has been active in the legal community by serving as Past President of the Young Lawyers of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association and also the Family Law Section Chairman of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association from 2008-2010. Additionally, Todd has served as Past President of the Young Men’s Business Club, and is a member of the First United Methodist Church in downtown Lake Charles.
Todd is an experienced and compassionate family law attorney offering a wide range of skills from the management of complex divorce cases to sensitive representation in an emotionally charged custody proceeding. Todd always strives to resolve cases for his clients as efficiently as possible. However, if litigation is necessary, Todd’s clients can be assured that he will aggressively fight through trial.
